Happy ChanuKauai

Below are all the Chanukah Events we are running.

Please spread the word and join the Celebration.

(If you need a mini-Menorah, we have some left...)

  •  Sunday, December 25 - 5:30pm (Kapa'a)

Come share in a home-style informal celebration of Chanukah, as we celebrate on the first Sunday of Chanukah.

Susan Storm, our host, will tell about her recent, most amazing trip to Israel, along with Elyse Litvak. The slideshow will accompany her story, as we enjoy Latkes and other Kosher food.

Bring your Menorah, if you have one. We'll light together.

Location: 4875 Steven Road, Kapa'a

  •  Tuesday, December 27, 6:00pm (Wailua Homesteads)

This women's only event, part of the Jewish Women's Circle, which brings the flavor of culture and artistic color to the scene, will include a Menorah lighting, Latkes and other treats, a discussion on the Kabbala of the upcoming month of Tevet, and just good fun with other Jewish women on island.

Hosted by Sara Dubey - 6528 Kalama Road, Kapa'a

Bring a "grab-bag", a small gift of $5-$10 to share/trade with another.

  • Wednesday, December 28, 5:00pm (Poipu)

At: The Shops at Kukui'ula - Poipu

Live Latkes baking demo - and tasting - by Chef Zisel Goldman.

Followed by Hawaii's Tiki-Torch Menorah lighting at 6:00pm.

And Music.

  •  Sunday, January 1, 2017 - 4:30pm (Princeville, St. Regis)

This annual spectacular celebration will once again be held at this most stunning location, as we spend the closing moments of Chanukah 5777, on the planet (being the Westernmost Jewish Community on Earth!).

Lively music by local Jewish Musicians: Ken Solin, Miles Greenberg, Toby Brown

Ceremonial Menorah Lighting of Hawaii's Tiki-Torch Menorah by Ken Rosenthal

(note: the last night of lighting the Menorah, i.e. the 8th candle, is Saturday night. Sunday's lighting will be (very) meaningful in symbolism. Come find out why...)

 Latkes, doughnuts and other treats

P.S. The photo at the top of this page is from the S. Regis event last year.

If you, or someone you know, needs a Menorah, please contact us at JewishKauai@gmail.com or text to 808-647-4293

Shalom-Aloha!

Looking forward to celebrating together.
